Russ was born in Bastrop Louisiana, raised in the Oak Grove area, and is a graduate of The University of Louisiana at Monroe. Russ has worked in the construction field since college where he spent summers working at an aluminum extrusion plant and at Sherwin Williams Paint Company during the active school semester. Upon graduation, Russ moved to Alexandria, Louisiana to work as an assistant project manager for a commercial general contractor. After a year, he moved to the project manager role and spent three years. During that time he created schedules, coordinated construction activities, conducted meetings with the project teams, and handled all fiscal responsibilities of the projects.
Russ is actively involved in church and volunteers in the community when the opportunity is presented to him. He has spent time volunteering at The Manna House in Alexandria. This organization pays for and prepares meals for those in the area who are in need. Russ is also a member of the AGC and enjoys dedicating his free time to participate and help with their events.
Russ enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He travels to visit them monthly and cherishes his time with them. When not spending weekends with the family, Russ is likely outdoors hunting and playing golf with friends. His other interests include LSU sports, the New Orleans Saints, and the Houston Astros.
